Pumpkin is rich in vitamin A (just two tablespoons packs almost a full days requirement), and vitamin A fortifies mucous membranes in the nose and throat to block cold and flu viruses before they can settle into your system. To make a delicious pumpkin smoothie, blend one-fourth cup of canned pumpkin puree, one-fourth cup of plain low-fat yogurt, one frozen banana (cut into chunks) two tablespoons of ground flaxseed, one teaspoon of agave nectar, one-fourth teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice and one-fourth teaspoon of vanilla extract. Puree until smooth and creamy.

To supercharge your health with an avocado smoothie, scoop out the flesh of one ripe avocado and place in blender. Add one-half cup of light soy milk or low fat milk and two tablespoons of honey. Blend until smooth and creamy, then add another one and half cups of soy milk and blend until smooth.

Melt belly fat by blending two cups of cooked beets (canned is fine), one cup low fat vanilla yogurt and four ice cubes. When beet mixture is smooth, add two tablespoons of honey, one tablespoon of orange juice and a pinch of orange zest. Blend until all ingredient are incorporated.
