2011 Week 2 NFL Fantasy Football: Top Free Agents

If you are looking for the best players to add to your fantasy football rosters for Week 2, the following players were available in both of my 12-team leagues.

1. QB Chad Henne – Miami Dolphins

While he will not rack up nearly 500 total yards and score three touchdowns every week, we now know that he is capable of doing so. Henne looked better against the Patriots on Monday night than we have ever seen him. Keep in mind, his running game in the past consisted of Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams. His current main running back, Reggie Bush, is more of a receiver, catching nine passes from Henne and accounting for 56 of his passing yards. Henne is a quality bye-week replacement, a possible fill-in for those who drafted Peyton Manning, and could potentially end the year as a Top 10 or 12 fantasy quarterback.

2. WR Early Doucet – Arizona Cardinals

Quarterback Kevin Kolb is going to throw the ball and Arizona is not going to have a very dominant running attack. With defenses keying on wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, Doucet will have plenty of opportunities to show his big-play capability. With three catches for 105 yards and a touchdown in Week 1, Doucet should be targeted more as the season progresses.

3. TE Ed Dixon – Baltimore Ravens

If you drafted a tight end late, or if you are looking for a future star to grab in a keeper or dynasty league, take a look at Dixon. In their three seasons together, quarterback Joe Flacco connected with tight end Todd Heap for an average of approximately 42 catches, 530 yards, and 5 touchdowns each season. Dickson is younger than Heap, and Flacco should be entering his prime now. If Dickson stays healthy, he has the potential to be an elite fantasy tight end.
