2011’s weather was a rollercoaster ride
From droughts to floods, it was hard to hide
But for all the loss and pain that was felt
It’s a card that will continue to be dealt
The photos displayed of the Southern US
Of dried up land and longhorn’s a mess
Are tell-tale signs of what’s to come
Global warming is undoubtedly touted by some
Fires and heat in the summer were widespread
As the acres raised an aire of dread
The heat didn’t help the circumstance
It only added fuel to the devil’s dance
The flooding was next to inundate
It was the North’s turn to meet their fate
Irene was just one piece of the puzzle
The weather critics needed a muzzle
The event that truly shocked the nation
Was undoubtedly the tornadoes that caused devastation
Four days in April we will not forget
Our thoughts still with those we’ve never met
As we move on with a positive outlook
With some apprehension about what the weather took
A reminder that when the weather gets harrowing
Listen for the alert of a watch or a warning
