2011 Toyota Camry Continues a Grand Tradition of Reliable Cars

I’ve never been disappointed with a foreign car and the Toyota Camry is absolutely one of my favorite. I’ve owned two the past, so it only made since to test drive the 2011 Camry LE while car shopping.

The four-door sedan comes with automatic transmission and a 2.5 liter engine. Like its predecessors, the Camry is easy to drive, with a nice loose feel to the steering wheel. Comfortable seats are independently adjustable and easily can accommodate five passengers. The trunk storage compartment is one of the largest and most spacious I’ve seen on a mid-sized car.

The Camry is advertised to obtain 22 mpg in city driving and 32 mpg on highways. I’ve always experienced a better fuel consumption rating than that, but I was unable to drive the 2011 model long enough to make a determination. Regardless, I’d be very comfortable that a Toyota product can deliver what they promise.

With extensive windshields, the driver has an unobstructed view of everything moving outside the vehicle, with the exception of the driver’s blind spot. A minor adjustment of the driver’s exterior mirror generally solves that problem, but I always make sure to look over my left shoulder before making a lane change just to be safe.

I think the 2011 model runs a lot quieter then previous models of the Camry, but the salesperson said there was no material difference in how the engine was aligned or constructed to account for that. A fully digital display provides critical engine performance information, along with oil change and windshield fluid indicators.

Priced at $23,995, the Toyota Camry is the perfect family or business-use vehicle. With regular preventive maintenance, this car will last long after the car payments stop.
