What is the Law of Attraction?

The law of attraction, what is it? Basically it is whatever you have in your life now, because simply put, you have attracted it!

If there is anything in your life that you don’t like, you cannot blame anyone else, because it is you that has attracted it.

Sounds a bit harsh, I know, but once you understand this concept, you can make wonderful changes to your life.

Simply put the law of attraction is what we think about, we bring about. So if you’re often worrying and complaining, you will actually be attracting more of this. Whatever you’re predominantly thinking you are creating. Does that seem a bit scary? When I first learnt of this, I thought, “you have got to be kidding”, all the negative thoughts I was having a day, it was a wonder I had any happiness or joy. But now I am so grateful for this knowledge, because awareness is the key to changing anything. And I am now totally aware of what I am thinking about at every moment.

Again, you attract into your life whatever you give your attention, energy and focus to, whether positive or negative. It is our predominant thoughts that create, and many of our thoughts are on “automatic pilot”, so we need to consciously gain control over our dominant thoughts.

Another thing to be aware of is each of us are a part of a vibrational world and we each vibrate at a certain energy level. There are two kinds of vibrations, positive (+) and negative (-). Every mood or feeling causes you to send out a vibration, either positive or negative. We all know the feeling of being around someone who either sends out a good vibe or a bad vibe. This is the vibration they are sending out. We each vibrate at a certain energy level, so the higher your thoughts, the higher your vibration. This is why it pays to be conscious of what you’re thinking and feeling.

Here are some steps to the law of attraction:

Step 1: Identify what you desire. Be specific. For example if it’s a new job you want, don’t just say I want a new job. Write down what sort of job, how much you will earn, what hours you will work, what are your tasks. Be super specific, the clearer the thoughts and feelings you put out there the clearer the law of attraction will respond. If you find it hard to identify with what you desire, briefly think about what you don’t want and then write down the opposite. Ask yourself, “So, what do I want?”

Step 2: Give attention to your desire. To increase your vibrations means to give your desire more positive attention, focus and energy. Desires cannot manifest without attention. Think about your desire often and with a feeling of excitement. It is the feeling of excitement that will attract your desire. If you have the slightest feeling of doubt when thinking about it, your vibration will drop. If you state, “oh, this won’t work”, or “this is too hard”, or “this is unbelievable” you will attract exactly that. Find ways to feel excited about what you want. If it really does feel like it won’t happen for you, state your desires in a way that is believable. Such as, “I am now learning to think about my desire in a positive light. I am now feeling excited at the prospect of my desire manifesting, and it makes me feel happy”. Now imagine your desires being fulfilled and how you are enjoying the experience.

Step 3: Give thanks and gratitude. The more thanks and gratitude you can express for what’s already in your life the more of it you will attract. Focus on what’s great about your life, not what’s missing.

Step 4: Allow. You have identified your desire, given it attention, and are grateful for what you already have, now it’s time to allow it. Allowing is simply the absence of negative vibration. Doubt is a negative vibration and the most common source of doubt comes from you own limiting belief, and a limiting belief is a negative thought you repeat over and over. To lessen any doubt you may have, write out an allowing statement. Such as “I now allow my desire to come to me. Many before me have done it and I can do it too”. Celebrate any proof of your desire and give thanks for your desire as though it has already happened. Accept any gifts, thanks or compliments, for these are all ways of allowing things to come to you. Relax and do things that make you feel happy and think about your desire as though it has already happened.
