Week 8 Defense Rankings – player profiles and stat projections will be updated throughout the week

Week 8 — QB Rankings — RB Rankings — WR Rankings — TE Rankings — D Rankings — Waiver Pickups — Matchup Picks — Player Injury Updates

1. Baltimore Ravens = Ari —– Kevin Kolb has not played very well lately, and even though the Ravens allowed rookie Blaine Gabbert and the Jaguars offense to move the ball and tally field goals against them last week, you have to believe the Ravens will be out for some payback in this game.

2. New Orleans Saints = @StL —– The Rams are just terrible right now, period. Offense, defense, it really does not matter…..the Rams are awful. A solid Saints defense should have no problem shutting down the weak scoring offense of the Rams this week.

3. San Francisco 49ers = Cle —– The Browns offense is definitely not the worst in the NFL, but the 49ers defense will likely create too much pressure on Colt McCoy, and the Browns running game just simply is not that good. So in other words, 3-5 sacks, and an interception or two is very possible for the 49ers defense this week.

4. New York Giants = Mia — 67% —– The Miami Dolphins offense is terrible, and Matt Moore could easily get sacked 3-5 times in this game, with an interception or two easily possible as well.

5. Detroit Lions = @Den —– The Lions defense is solid but not great, and a matchup against the running ability of Tim Tebow is hard to judge yet on just how productive the Lions will be able to slow him down.

6. Houston Texans = Jac — 61% —– The Texans defense came up big in last weeks game, and a matchup against a weak Jaguars scoring offense and rookie Blaine Gabbert, could have the Texans defense tallying one of the best fantasy football scoring outputs again this week.

7. Cincinnati Bengals = @Sea — 25% —– If Charlie Whitehurst starts at QB again this week, the Cincinnati Bengals defense could quite possibly be the #1 scoring fantasy football defense this week. At just 25% owned in 10 team leagues, the Cincinnati Bengals defense is one defense that is starter worthy in nearly all fantasy football leagues this week.

8. Buffalo Bills = Was — 19% —– With John Beck starting at QB, and the loss of Santana Moss and Tim Hightower in the Redskins offense, the Buffalo Bills defense has an opportunity to reward fantasy football teams in need of a spot starting defense this week.

9. San Diego Chargers = @KC — 50% —– You never really know with the Chargers defense, but the matchup seems to show that the Chargers could tally a few sacks and force a couple turnovers in this game.

10. Philadelphia Eagles = Dal —– Even though the Eagles defense has been nearly atrocious so far this season, and the Dallas offense offers tons of scoring upside, Tony Romo is still turnover prone and is very sack prone as well.

11. Pittsburgh Steelers = NE —– For all of you who invested in the Pittsburgh Steelers defense in your fantasy football draft this season, this is definitely one week that you will not want to start them.

12. Dallas Cowboys = @Phi —– I would not want to start the Cowboys defense in my starting lineup this week, but the turnover and injury prone Michael Vick could always lead to points for the Cowboys defense.

13. Minnesota Vikings = @Car —– The Vikings defense is not terrible, but Cam Newton’s ability to run and Steve Smith revitalization could lead to a very long day for the injury ravaged and depleted Vikings secondary this week.

14. Tennessee Titans = Ind — 21% —– As usual, any defense going up against the Indianapolis Colts offense is starter worthy……and yes that even includes the Tennessee Titans defense this week.

15. New England Patriots = @Pit

16. Indianapolis Colts = @Ten
17. Seattle Seahawks = Cin
18. Kansas City Chiefs = SD
19. Arizona Cardinals = @Bal
20. Washington Redskins = @Buf

21. Jacksonville Jaguars = @Hou
22. Cleveland Browns = @SF
23. Miami Dolphins = @NYG
24. Denver Broncos = Det
25. Carolina Panthers = Min
26. St. Louis Rams = NO

BYE WEEK
Green Bay Packers = bye
New York Jets = bye
Chicago Bears = bye
Atlanta Falcons = bye
Tampa Bay Buccaneers = bye
Oakland Raiders = bye
