US Day of Rage

I’m sure by now you have heard the term Arab Spring in the media in regards to what has happened and is still going on in the Middle East this year. Tyrants have been over-thrown and new governments are starting to take control in Egypt and other countries in the Middle East. Well it seems the events of the Arab Spring have served as inspiration to groups here in America…Progressive Leftist Radical groups to be precise. Starting on September 17th in New York City we will see the first of what will take place this fall, and if we are not careful we will have no choice but to refer to these events America’s Fall.

In the first part of this series of commentaries I outlined the actions that are taking place as you read this of these progressive left radical groups and now I will go more in-depth one by one in this series starting first with the first of what I’m sure will be many uprisings here in America that will take place on September 17th in New York City specifically Wall Street. I’m talking about the US Day of Rage obviously inspired by comments brought to light earlier this year by Stephen Lerner. First let’s look at Stephen Lerner briefly and how all of this got started.

Stephen Lerner is a big name on the left especially with the unions here in America. He is an influential man to say the least. Stephen Lerner is a labor and community organizer who has spent decades working with the unions and is reportedly still on the payroll of the SEIU. This spring audio surfaced of Stephen Lerner speaking at a conference talking about what many believe is domestic/economic terrorism. He talked about targeting Wall Street and the big banks specifically naming JP Morgan as a big bank target. He outlined briefly a plan that would bring down the economic system in America forcing the hands of the government to redistribute wealth, stop home foreclosures, and collapse capitalism. A little over a month later in May union protestors attempted to storm an annual corporate meeting of JP Morgan in Columbus, Ohio in a way that resembled the plan outlined by Lerner.

Now it looks like the plan that Lerner himself outlined in the early spring is becoming reality and trust me it is a dangerous situation to say the least. The US Day of Rage is planned to begin on September 17, 2001. According to various websites aligned with the gathering on that day people are encouraged to gather on Wall Street in New York City with tents, basic living supplies, food, signs, video cameras, etc. for the sole purpose to occupy Wall Street for as long as it takes to shut them down thus crashing the United States economy. The websites themselves calls for peaceful non-violent civil disobedience (an oxymoron don’t you think) what will not only block the streets, but the entrances to the buildings themselves. That is just the start.

On the surface when cruising through the site one can see how someone might be influenced in thinking this was a good thing. With slogans like “1 Citizen Vote”, “Special Influence Corrupts Our Political Parties”, and many more along those lines I personally can see people getting on board with no real idea of their intent. Yet if you use a little common sense and take some time to really look into the US Day of Rage sites themselves you will discover their ultimate goal…socialism. They want to crash the system, destroy capitalism, and push for redistribution of wealth. They are preying upon the hardships of America today to push their agenda. They are using the American people especially the ones that have lost their jobs, lost their homes, and cannot pay their basic bills or provide their families with necessities. It isn’t because of capitalism this is happening it’s because of the government spending and interference by our government. To those behind the US Day of Rage they don’t care. This is an opportunity to them to strike a death blow to our economy thus gaining their desired end results. Is it worth mentioning at this point that this US Day of Rage isn’t the first Day of Rage America has seen. Remember back to 1969 and Bill Ayers and the Weather Underground’s Day of Rage in Chicago. You know the 4 day violence-filled riot!

What is even more disturbing is the fact that this US Day of Rage will not be isolated to Wall Street. No it’s become a national and global event. The US Day of Rage has inspired similar events to happen all over the globe. US Day of Rage events have been announced and organized in almost every major state as well as in Spain, Canada, UK, Germany, and possibly more. With all of this going on and the targets obviously big banks and the stock exchange what kind of impact will this actually have on the American and the world? Will it just cause a minor drop in the market or if it continues for as long as they hope will it actually crash the system? At this point we can only speculate. However if we continue to talk about it and expose this movement for what it really is then it is possible that the numbers they are hoping for will be too little to make any kind of impact. As in most progressive radical movements the dedication of those that say they will get involved doesn’t last that long.

Another thing to take serious note of is the fact that the organizations involved with the US Day of Rage are using the selling tool that this will be the United States Tahrir moment obviously referring to the events in Egypt that launched the media and our government naming it with pride it Arab Spring. Personally I don’t think that kind of chaos is a good thing…do you? It’s worth pointing out that another progressive leftist radical movement launching into action in October is also using Tahrir as inspiration. Tomorrow we look at David Swanson’s occupation of Washington DC in order to shut down the federal government.
