Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights 2011 – Hollywood, California

Oooh.. it’s almost Halloween! And that means it’s time to go to another Halloween event. This time, it’s Universal Studios Halloween Horror Night in Hollywood, California! So as I said, I’ve been to Knotts for most of my Halloween events if not all. And that is why I wanted to try something new and in the end, it’s this.

Before going to this event, I read lots of reviews. So many of them said the place was so gruesome and scary and that it’s so much better than Knotts. I was so thrilled to finally be able to go to this event. I bought the tickets online and went with my wife. It was really cheap especially when you order online. So I’m telling you that if you want cheap tickets, pre-order it online.

So we went to the opening of the event and it was really cool. It was the same old stuff, check in the security gates, give them the ticket, and we can go in and have a blast. They gave us a map and promotion there also too so it’s so much easier to navigate. While we were going to the Terror Tram, which most people said it was amazing, Scream came out of nowhere! Boy was I scared. We were just going up the elevator and he was beside it. It was freaky. And then while going to the terror tram, those Screams were everywhere, trying to scare people which was really cool. I’m loving this place so far.

The terror tram for this year is Scream 4 Your Life. The line was long but then it was really quick. We got onto the tour bus but then had to stop. And then it’s time to walk through the the scary zone. And wow, it was super freaky. It was a hill with sand. You get the feeling of being in the woods. And there were Scream, zombies, haunted house, chimpanzee men, and it was just plain scary. They were banging on the doors, jumping out of the bushes, and the noise effect was just thrilling and got me creeped out. Overall, it was pure awesome.

For the time at Universal Studios HHN, we only got to go to 3 mazes and 3 rides. It’s all because of the lines. I really recommend a front of the line pass. It’s just like $20 more but you can be in more rides/mazes. The first maze we went to the Hostel. The line took like 1 1/2 hours. It was so long and my wife and I got so tired and just wanted to go to another maze. But it was really worth it. It was really creepy and it looks so cool. The effects and noise makes you really creep out and everything looks real. We also went to the House of 1000 Corpses in 3D. It wasn’t that scary as I thought but the effects are really cool. The last maze we went was the Wolfman. It was the shortest line but wow, was I surprised. It’s the best maze that I went to for sure. It was dark and mysterious and it’s just so thrilling.

So onto the rides, we went onto Jurassic Park, Mummy, & The Simpsons rides. Those rides were pretty cool. I have to say the Mummy was the best. It was so thrilling and so fast and so windy that it was just awesome. Jurassic park was awesome too. I love the final downhill. It was exhilarating. The simpsons ride was just okay. It would have been better if we moved more. It felt like a kid’s ride which it is.

Overall, Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights is an amazing event. Everything is spot on and is just so cool. I also love the scare zones. My favorite has got to be the clowns. They’re so creepy and it’s funny how everyone of them surrounded my wife. It was so entertaining. The reapers was cool because they actually chase you around with their chainsaw and it was super scary. When the park was about to close and we were about to get out, all the scare zones monsters lined up and they were just still. We were walking and then all of a sudden, they went bananas. Boy, was that park chaotic. It was so scary! There was no where to run. They were just like everywhere. This park is just so much fun. I really recommend it. Is it better than Knotts? I can say it’s SO much better than Knotts. Sure, Knotts have so many mazes, but then Universals have high quality mazes. You have to try this now!
