Three ASA Slow-pitch Softball Bats

Slow-pitch softball season is fast approaching and having the right kind of bat on your shoulders just might make the difference from an out or a homerun. There are many bats on the market today and if you`re a just for fun player or the a very competitive kind, you will love the bats suggested

1. MIKEN MANIC 484 – This Bat is not one of the most famous bats of the Miken bats. However, I have owned this bat for 6 years. Not just the same brand, but the same bat. In just the last 2 years, it has really broken in for me. I don`t grant all my success to the bat though, I have focused more on bettering my game. For instance more stretching before the game and strength training during the off season. The Miken Manic 484 has E-Flex Technology that generates Maximum power through the entire barrel. Now this bat does not come hot out of the wrapper. It takes well over 1500 hits to break in, but when spending $250.00 dollars on a bat and you want ultimate usage for your money. This is the bat of choice. 2. RAWLINGS SILVERBACK PLASMA FUSION – This bat was sent to me from my brother in New York. He said it was a really good bat that hit with accuracy and power. At the time I played 50 plus games a year, so I gladly accepted the challenge of seeing how well this bat really performed. No doubt this bat has lived up to the hype for accuracy. With this bat from right field to left field, I can hit anywhere on the field. But with a smaller sweet spot than most high powered bats, there wasn`t much power to brag about. Although I did hit my first back to back homeruns that went over 300 hundred feet. The RAWLINGS SILVERBACK PLASMA FUSION is powered by Liquid Metal Technology. It contains a Fusion-Flex Transmitter, which helps with vibration and upon ball impact helps transfer your body energy into the barrel of the bat. If you’re not a Homerun hitter and you`re just looking for a good quality bat that can perform then this is the bat for you. This bat is in the price range of $200.00 and in my experience worth the price. 3. DOUBLE-WALL DEMARINI – This bat was the Michael Jordon of Slow-pitch softball bats in its day. It was one of the first bats that were priced in the $250.00 range. At the time I thought it was way overpriced, until I used it. I quickly fell in love, with the power it generated and how smooth it glided through the power zone of my swing. The first time my team used this bat 9 out of 10 players hit a homerun and our fifth player hit three. The DOUBLE-WALL DMERANI is made with Double-Wall Technology, which has a thin wall built inside the barrel that gives it the ultimate trampoline effect. With all the new technology and choices of bats offered today, the double-wall has dropped in price and now is around $150.00. Even though the ASA certified ball used to be much harder than today’s ball, this bat can still get the job done and is well worth the price.

Now there is many new ASA certified bats out there to choose from and the bats mentioned have been replaced by the next generation. Now the Miken bat of choice is the new Miken FX700. I have only tried this bat a couple of times, but I still would favor the MIKEN MANIC 484. It didn`t give me any more power than, I received from the Manic. I could not find any information for Rawlings 2012. I`m not for sure if they made a new bat or not, so if you have a RAWLINGS LIQUISD METAL PLASMA take good care of it. It just may be the last one of its kind. A couple of years ago the Demarini bat company was bought by the Worth company. They still make Demarini Softball bats, but I don`t think there as good. Maybe because there is such a selection out there, they just don`t stand out like they used too. There are many selections of Demarini bats for 2012. The most popular ones are the DEMARINI STEEL, the DEMARINI THE ONE, and DERMARINI ULTIMAT CLASSIC CF5. They still make the DEMARINI DOUBLE-WALL priced at $150.00 and in my opinion still worth it, because it is still very durable and gets the job done.
