Fall is almost here! The leaves are going to be falling and it is going to start getting a little bit cooler every day. Labor Day is approaching fast and Halloween will be here before you know it. Ever wondered what the good uses for the leaves that are all over your yard are? There are many things that can be done with these leaves including recycling them, creating wreathes with the different colors, and putting them in orange trash bags around Halloween and sitting them around your house to decorate with!
Recycling leaves is something that many people enjoy doing. There are so many trees around my house that it would be hard to recycle them all so we just use the leaf blower and a rake to put them in a pile and burn them, as long as it isn’t too dry to.
Crafting with the leaves from the fall has become very popular over the last few years. Ever been into a restaurant or a hobby store to see the decorations that are hanging all over the wall? Someone has to take the time to make something like that and fall is the season to do that. The different colors make great collages and also wreathes! It takes time to construct something like that but if that is what someone enjoys doing and it makes them money, so be it! Items such as these catch the eyes of many customers that walk into craft stores such as Hobby Lobby. The decorations that are all over the store are enough to make anyone want to spend their last dollar on them!
Last, but not least, the most exciting activity that can be accomplished by the leaves falling off of the trees is around Halloween time. When I was a kid, my family and I would get out into the yard and rake the leaves into a huge pile and go to our local Roses®, at the time, and buy some orange trash bags that looked like pumpkins and had the eyes, nose, and mouths. We would stay outside for hours putting leaves into the bags and sitting them around the yard for decorations! It made a great decoration and it also caught the eyes of the traffic going down the street! It is enjoyable for the whole family and I believe that anyone that did this type of activity around Halloween would enjoy it as well!
