#TeamBrenn Shows Love and Support for Local Teen Killed in a Tragic Accident

Jan. 22 was a day that changed the lives of the family and many friends of Brenn Carter, a 19-year-old from Huntingtown, Maryland. That is the day her 2008 Acura collided with a tree and resulted in her death. Since then, an outcry of emotions and support has surfaced on Facebook and Twitter as #TeamBrenn emerged, with thousands of tweets. Brenn Carter’s personal page has become a memorial of words from family and friends trying to sort out her death.

Her friends will honor her in an organized cruise on Friday night, Jan. 27, starting after her viewing. The cruise is expected to include over one hundred vehicles at last report and is organizing at the local fairgrounds. “It’s representing the love and support of so many friends and family to all come together to show how much Brenn meant to them. I’m participating because Brenn is my best friend and she deserves to be honored, remembered and celebrated because she was an amazing person”, expressed Caitlin Blauvelt in a personal interview. When asked what she hoped other teens would take away from the cruise, Caitlin shared, “I hope teens take away from the cruise that life is short, and anything can happen in the blink of an eye so you have to live every day to the fullest. I also hope teens begin to drive safer and are more aware when they’re driving because this accident just shows how anything can happen without warning.”

A Brenn Carter Memorial Page has been established on Facebook to “support her family through this difficult time,” the page states. A memorial fund has been set up at PNC Bank, as well as, several local business owners have pledged donations from their commissions. #TeamBrenn T-shirts, as well as, bracelets are available to show support and help the memorial fund.
