Star Wars: The Old Republic Review

The new MMORPG(Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) launched December 20th 2011. This was a Christmas present asked for by many gamers. If you are a person who loves Star Wars and Role-Playing Games then this is definitely for you. The game offers a large selection of races. The gamer can be either a Human, Chiss, Cyborg, Miraluka, Mirialan, Rattataki, Sith, Pureblood, Twi’lek, or Zabrak. After you choose your race, it is time to begin a class. The class list is as follows: Bounty Hunter, Smuggler, Imperial Agent, Sith Inquisitor, Sith Warrior, Jedi Knight, Jedi Consular, and Trooper. After this class choice it is also possible to go more in depth and choose an advanced class. The character in the game can be customized to a huge extent.

The story line is much like the old Knights of the Old Republic games. You can choose whether or not you want to be evil or good. This is determined based on your actions throughout the game. Helping people will make you more like a Jedi, while killing people turns you into a Sith. There are two sides in the game. The light side is called the Galatic Republic while the other is called the Sith Empire. You have an instructor based on either side you choose who is either light or dark. They instruct you throughout the game and you can choose to obey him/her or to follow your own path.

The graphics in this game are incredible. It plays much like World of Warcraft, but the graphics are much better. There is an immense amount of landscape that you can explore throughout the game while fighting or questing. There is also a PVP system in this game that allows for one to request duels with other players, much like WoW.

This game does come with a monthly subscription. The game itself can be bought online or in stores for around 60 USD ( http://www.swtor.com/ ). With the game there is a month free subscription. After the first month the game requires a monthly subscription that can be bought in multiple month packages (one month, three months, or six months). The more months you buy in one package the higher the discount. This game is also only offered on the PC.

This is definitely a long game that will play for days on end. It is highly recommended for one who likes the Star Wars plot line along with the feel of a MMORPG such as World of Warcraft.
