My birthday’s near and I am deep in thought,
How old I am seems to worry me more;
I ponder all these years that seem a lot,
Life has passed along way too fast and sure;
Wondering if time has been good to me,
Have I accomplished what I needed too,
Is there regret and more I need to see;
To take each day slowly, that is my cue;
Love, pain and forgiveness, smiles and dismay,
Living is full of all these curves and things,
Emotions have gotten me though the day;
Even though many, many times it stings;
I shall slow down and enjoy all the time,
For if I don’t I will regret my rhyme.
