Make Your Own Super Bowl Party Invitations

The Super Bowl is right around the corner and if you are planning a party it is time to get the invitations filled out and ready to be delivered. With everyone trying to save money these days, making your own unique invitations is a great way to save and use that extra money for food and beverages for your party. It also gives you the ability to personalize your party invitations and get creative. Here are just a few examples of simple invitation ideas.

General Invitations

Making invitations does not need to be difficult. A simple postcard invitation works best and, while you can purchase pre-cut postcard cardstock paper, regular cardstock that you cut yourself is less expensive. Check at your local office supply stores and you should be able to find a large package for under $10. Being done in postcard style will allow you hand them out or direct mail them as well. You can hand draw a general football design on the cardstock for each invitation or design something on your computer with graphic software and print them out. Just make sure to include all the party information like the date and time.

Team Specific Invites

You can use that idea but customize the invitations based on the teams playing in the Super Bowl. You can choose to use cardstock in the team colors or you can find graphic images from the team to put onto you invitations. If your team is in the Super Bowl and you have attended a game during the season, consider using a picture you took at the game and print them out to make your invitation.

Football Plate Invitations

If you are planning on passing out your invitations and not mailing them, you have the ability to get a bit more creative. If this is the case, I like to use paper plates. This time of year you can usually go to your local dollar store and find football shaped and colored paper plates. Some may even be preprinted with “Super Bowl.” So, for $1, you can usually get eight to 10 invitations. Simply take the plates and write your party details on the back. Buy extra plates in the same design to use at your party as well.

Creating invitations is really simple and can be a lot of fun if you really let your personality and love for your team or the sport shine through.
