Lindsay Lohan Posing for ‘Playboy’: Let the Airbrushing Begin

COMMENTARY | Troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan is posing for “Playboy” magazine after years of refusing to appear in the publication. Given her personal appearance in recent months, the resulting photos will likely owe more to Photoshop than photography unless a minor miracle has occurred that restored Lohan’s once lustrous locks, cute face, and healthy, clean teeth overnight.

Access Hollywood reported that the “Playboy” photo shoot is occurring this week and that the actress is “disrobing” for the pictures. There is no word yet on whether her agreement with the magazine will include full nudity or the sensuality driven shots “Playboy” is noted for. No matter the type of photographs captured, it is a certainty that airbrushing of the highest order will be employed unless the magazine is hoping to capture a touch of the macabre.

The courtroom regular definitely wasn’t ready for the Playboy” flashbulbs at her most recent court appearance or at any public outings in recent months. A recent New York Daily News slideshow highlights exactly how poorly Lindsay’s looks have fared during recent years because of her drug and alcohol problems.

To be a Playboy”-quality model, she needs dental caps or, at the very least, a strong bleaching coupled with Photoshop help. The make-up artist is also going to need to sandblast off the horrid make-up she wore at her most recent court appearance.

Many of Lindsay Lohan’s recent beauty choices have revolved around disguising as many of her signature freckles as possible and hiding the bloated appearance of her face. Unfortunately, the volume of makeup this requires has led to her resembling a child after playing in her mother’s make-up case.

Anything Playboy does to cover her flaws will likely be done in Photoshop to avoid a similar fate. While it would be best to feature the real Lindsay as an object lesson on the evils of drug use, editors will probably find it necessary to erase the bloat in her face by both slimming the face and manual trimming off surface area on either side. “Photoshop blush” should help add to the effect by emphasizing Lohan’s existing bone structure.

Despite what Photoshop can do, it can’t erase the look in Lindsay Lohan’s eyes for “Playboy.” At this point it seems unlikely they will ever again sparkle with the untroubled gleam they held in her youth. The fact that she is posing for the magazine after years of refusing its advances is a testament to how far her star power has fallen.
