Just Keep Breathing

At some point in everyone’s life, they experience a moment like this: it hurts to breath because, you knew this kind of thing before. It will take time, patience, and energy. You can let it take you for everything you’ve got.

But what, exactly, do you have? Are you festering in sorrow and pity and fear? Or are you grateful for the little or unexpected things that made it possible for you to deal with news like this? Who knew moving back in with your parents would be such a blessing?

Because I am quite certain this pressure on my chest would be worse if I had try to work as well as worry about partner? I don’t even have to worry about what to have for dinner. If I don’t get to it, I still know it will get done.

I can just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Keep my lungs expanding, without letting my head explode. Keep my thoughts positive, like the name of God during an exorcism. “Out, Damn it! Out!”

Keep going. Simple things. Accomplish your task you set out for yourself today, even if that is all that you do. Laundry does itself. Too much time to think. Think about breathing.

Just keep moving forward. Pushing away the thoughts that have no place here. Yes! Because I say so! Because you say so! Because we focus on the blessings.

I am right where I need to be, as I need to be here. I do not have to understand, I just have to see it for what it is, knowing of the bad, but keeping my eye on the good. We are thankful for the gifts that we know will get us through this, just as we have those other things. Thankful for the lesson we are about to receive.

It is enough sometimes, just to breath. I have everything I need, in order to accomplish everything I need to accomplish, today. Sometimes I must pay the price, so that someone I love can learn the lesson. Great change is a great catalyst for great change. Stop, listen and learn.
