How Do YOU Put on YOUR Bra?

No, this is not a topic that requires Mensa status, but it is a curiosity. So … how do you put on your bra? Yes, this is real weighty subject matter. Is there a right or wrong way? A preferred way? A better way? Is there a who taught you that method story that goes along with your bra putting on technique?

I was watching a TV show that showed, from the back, a woman putting on her bra. She slipped her arms through the straps and then reached behind her back to hook her bra.

That looks contortionistic and difficult to me. I don’t do it that way. I put my bra on backward. I start with the back in the front, hook it, and then spin the bra around so that the front is in the front, and the back is in the back. I then pull it up over my shoulders. Voila. Easy as pie.

I don’t recall that anyone taught me this technique. I suspect I came up with it myself because it was easier, and I could see the hooks and didn’t have to search blindly for them. My method involves a lot less maneuvering and removes the guess work. Where ARE those damned hooks?

Surely, there are other women who use the same technique.

Out of curiosity, I looked online to see if I could find information on the standard method for putting on a bra. I wasn’t disappointed. There was a hot debate, much like the on-going debate on whether the toilet paper should roll over rather than under or vice versa. (Personally, I like it to roll over, but I’m not fanatic about it.)

I guess it doesn’t matter which camp you’re in as long as you manage to coax your way into your brassiere (one way or another) every morning.

It’s much like the put one sock on and then one shoe camp versus the put both socks on and then both shoes group, to which I belong. The outcome is the same.
