How Do the Fans of the Jaguars and the NFL Fans and the American People Feel About the Decision of Wayne Weaver to Sell the Team?

The talk in Jacksonville Florida today is all about the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Two bomb shells are dropped by Wayne Weaver on the same day.

WAYNE WEAVER FIRES JACK DEL RIO

The first was really no surprise the firing of Coach Jack Del Rio. Del Rio leaves with a 69-73 record, including 1-2 in two playoffs appearances. The Jaguars didn’t win the AFC South in any of his nine seasons. Defensive coordinator Mel Tucker was named the interim coach.

Weaver considered firing Del Rio after last season, but kept him partly because of the uncertainty surrounding the NFL lockout. Weaver refused to give contract extensions to any of Del Rio’s assistants, putting everyone on alert that this was a win-or-else season.

Fans have been clamoring for his departure for years, with many calling for him to be fired following a 5-11 finish in 2008. Instead, Weaver parted ways with personnel chief James “Shack” Harris and selected Gene Smith the general manager.

WAYNE WEAVER SELLS JAGUARS TO Shahid Khan

Khan, who made his fortune in automotive parts, has already tried once to gain entry to the NFL, but his bid to buy the St. Louis Rams in 2010 did not prove successful. If he is to take control of the Jags, 75% of the league’s owners must first approve the transaction. The vote will likely take place at the league meetings Dec. 14.

If Khan is welcomed as the franchise’s next owner, the next question will be how committed he actually is to keeping it in Jacksonville with Los Angeles actively trying to lure a team back to a market that lost the Rams and Raiders following the 1994 season. Jacksonville has frequently been mentioned as a franchise that could potentially be relocated.

So the question I have for Jaguar fans is the following?

Do you agree with the sale of the team and do you feel Shahid Khan will keep the team here in Jacksonville Florida?

Do you agree with the firing of Jack Del Rio?
