Hollywood’s Statuesque Leading Lady, Charlize Theron, Confesses She Did Not Feel Beautiful Growing Up

Charlize Theron, W Magazine‘s February cover girl, says she did not always feel confident in her looks. As a result of antibiotics taken as a chronically ill child, the South African native’s teeth rotted. It was not until she started to take dance lessons when she says she “eventually got some teeth.” She dreamed of being a ballerina; however, she was too tall.

It was not until she went to Milan when she was 16 to start modeling that she started to feel that she was becoming more attractive. She tells W Magazine that she always wanted to tell stories through ballet. However, due to her extensive height and several injuries, she decided that acting was a career where she could tell her tales instead. She left Italy for the streets of L.A. to pursue her new ambition.

In the sexy photo spread accompanying the article, Theron looks beautiful with her blonde hair sleekly covering one eye in some poses and swept off of her face in others. Her hair was styled by Enzo Angileri at Cloutier Remix using Nexxus products. All of her makeup is Dior by Shane Paish at Jed Root LA Inc. Paish lets Theron’s natural beauty take the lead in the pictures by using minimal foundation, a smoky eye shadow palette, a wisp of mascara, a bit of peachy blush, and beige lipstick.

In her new movie, Young Adult, she plays a “mean girl” who has returned to her hometown to reclaim her high-school sweetheart. Always one to completely change her looks for a role, Charlize Theron admits to using a temporary “enhancement”–she regularly uses silicone cutlet inserts to endow her figure when off-camera. She says, “if you don’t have boobs, you wear those cutlets!”
