Despite (because of their Super Bowl title) having a bulls eye painted on their backs and not organizing team workouts during the offseason, the Packers are off to their best start since 2007; Brett Favre’s last season with the team (has it really been that long?) and get a chance to remain undefeated with a home game against the 1-2 Denver Broncos
I spent a great deal of time looking for a reason why this should not be an easy win for Green Bay this weekend and, short of the team having the worst day in their long history, I honestly don’t see one.
Denver’s lone win came against the Cincinnati Bengals (also 1-2). Quarterback Kyle Orton had his best game of the season in that game but has been average (and that’s been generous) in the other two games (Oakland Raiders and Tennessee Titans). And, unfortunately for the Broncos, I think he’s still the best passer on their roster; making a change (which has been rumored) will only make things worse.
Even if Orton (or whoever starts) manages to equal his Cincinnati success against Green Bay, I just don’t see him being able to keep up with Aaron Rodgers and the Packers high scoring offense. Green Bay should runaway with this one from the start and I think there’s a good chance you’ll see Packers’ back up Matt Flynn getting a chance to play a couple series in the fourth quarter.
Packers 35 – Broncos 10
