I always find out what colors they like, if there allergic to any type of fiber, if they like animals and what kinds, do they like flowers, trees, lakes, mountains, etc. Once I know the likes and dislikes of the person I’m making a gift for then I can start working on the item.
Everyone makes different handmade items. I like to crochet and do cross stitch, so my handmade gifts are always a combination of both crafts. You can also make things to donate. These types of handmade gifts are always appreciated. You can make dog and cat bedding for animal shelters, lap robes and blankets for the nursing home patients, baby hats and blankets for newborns and preemies in the hospitals and hats and blankets for the people in the homeless shelters.
These are some of the ways that I am able to use my handmade talent and be able to donate to those in need. Gifts don’t have to be just for friends and family.
