Game Review of Snoopy’s Street Fair

As an iPhone user, I love the convenience of cool games and app downloads right on my phone. Couple that with a life-long love for Peanuts and I couldn’t wait to download and play Snoopy’s Street Fair. The game’s objective is brilliant, as are the graphics; however, there are some real downsides too. I love Charlie Brown and the gang and often buy their goodies but Snoopy’s Street Fair could become expensive.

The Premise: Somehow, Charlie and his team get invited to play ball at a big event. The team is required to buy uniforms and fund their trip. Peppermint Patty comes up with a plan-a street fair! It’s the player’s job to develop the layout of the fair. You have to buy fair games and stalls with the money you earned like Snoopy dollars and coins.

What I Like: I love the whimsical look and feel of Snoopy’s Street Fair. The character interaction is believable and the dialogue is true to Charles Schulz’s original series. The game has cool mini games and has an easy to use format. To top it off the download is free. There’s a Kite-Eating Tree and an Empty Mailbox too. You can wander the block aimlessly or you can build your street fair like a Wall Street tycoon.

What I Don’t Like: There aren’t enough mini games and over time, wandering around the street gets boring. Most of the cool booth and game upgrades in the game costs real money. You get 30 Snoopy Dollars at the beginning of the game and you receive 2 Snoopy Dollars for upgrading at each level. This doesn’t go far and soon you’re forced to make a decision to buy more Snoopy Dollars with real money. The character’s interaction is limited and the repetitive conversations get a little boring.

If you like Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy and Linus, you’ll like Street Fair. However, control yourself. Buying a wallet or purse of dollars every few days can make you say, “Good grief.”
