Fast Food Breakfast Options for Calorie Counters

I’ve been dieting for more years than I care to count, but can without a doubt attest to the fact that counting calories works. Not only does it work, but counting calories is pretty foolproof. You aren’t limited in what you can eat and can even enjoy fast food. If you find yourself on the go, or just too busy to make breakfast at home, here are a few fast food options for calorie counters.

McDonald’s Smoothies

This has to be one of my favorite fast food breakfast options. A large McDonald’s Smoothie contains less than 350 calories and is the perfect on-the-go breakfast. I prefer the Strawberry Banana flavor, but McDonald’s also offers Wild Berry and Mango Pineapple flavors.

McDonald’s or Burger King’s Oatmeal

While McDonald’s beat Burger King to the punch and began offering Fruit and Maple Oatmeal several months before their competitor, both fast food companies offer a delicious oatmeal that is great for calorie counters. McDonald’s Fruit and Maple Oatmeal contains 290 calories while Burger King’s Fruit Topped Maple Flavor Quaker Oatmeal only contains 270 calories.

Starbucks’ Spinach, Roasted Tomato, Feta and Egg White Wrap

The name alone lets you know that this is a healthy breakfast. After all, spinach is a good source of iron, while feta and egg whites add calcium and protein. The best part of all is this healthy breakfast contains only 280 calories. It’s so low in calories that you could add the Fruit Cup to round out your meal for only another 90 calories.

Dunkin’ Donuts Donut and Coffee

Of course I could give you healthier breakfast options at Dunkin’ Donuts, but if you’re anything like me, you don’t go to Dunkin’ Donuts for a breakfast sandwich. Thankfully, there are a number of donuts that contain 250 or less calories. The Sugared Cocoa Donut, Powdered Cocoa Donut, Sugar Raised Donut, Cocoa Glazed Donut and Maple Glazed Donut are just a few that fit this calorie limit. As for coffee, a plain coffee has zero calories. If you’re like me and love sweet coffee, you can add a small mocha for only 110 calories.

There you have it. Whether you’re looking for a healthy breakfast or a sweet treat low in calories, there are several options to choose from.
