Duct Tape Gets Crafty

Duck Brand has put a spin on regular duct tape – usually used for quick fixes and repairs – and is now selling Duck Tape in a rainbow of colors and patterns! The super-sticky tape is actually a great craft supply and makes for a lot of fun.

When I first read about creating things like purses and flowers purely out of Duck tape I was amazed. I even thought it was a joke, but oh, the things you actually can make with this stuff! It’s crazy, but really fun.

I decided to hop on the bandwagon and buy a couple rolls of Duck Tape for myself, to see what I could do with it. With a quick read-through of a tutorial, I’d created my first tape rose in a bright, neon-pink. Many more followed after that, and I even moved on to wallets and small bouquets. The good thing about Duck Tape is that there really are no limits to what you can do with it. If you can dream it up, you can probably make it with Duck Tape.

For $7 a roll, many people may decide to stick to cheaper crafts. When it comes to how sticky the tape is and how easily a younger child might make a mistake, people don’t want to mess around. However, considering how durable the Duck tape is, when you do finish the result will easily last for years. There is also a fair amount of tape on every roll, so for the amount you get, it’s not as expensive as some people make it out to be.

Duck Tape comes in every color of the rainbow. I own red, green, light blue, purple, neon pink, black, white, and a shiny silver. Duck also offers a couple of patterns such as tie-dye, camouflage, and zebra. Personally, I wish they sold more patterns.
