Dog-Friendly Places in Manila, Philippines

If I were thinking of dog-friendly places, Manila would definitely not come to mind. Unlike other cities such as New York, where most public spaces have pet areas, Manila has very few of these. When I first moved here a couple of years back, my dogs had to be limited to our property because dog-friendly places were so limited. Fortunately, we had a descent backyard where they could go and romp whenever they wanted to. In recent years, there has been an increase in dog-friendly places in this city. If you live in Manila, you can definitely bring your dog here with you.

Tiendesitas If you’re shopping for pet supplies, Tiendesitas is one of my favorite dog-friendly places in Manila. Head over to the Pet Village and you’re sure to find it among their numerous stalls. Hang out in one of their hammocks and your dog can socialize with the other pets there while you relax.

You’ll find Tiendesitas at Ortigas Avenue Corner E. Rodriguez Jr. Avenue (C-5), Pasig City.

Cartimar Shopping Centre Cartimar is least known among the dog-friendly places in Manila. If you are looking for a specific pet product, then Cartimar would be your best bet. Not only are there numerous stalls that cater to different pets but most of the sellers are very knowledgeable about pet care. You can also find different dog breeds and animals being sold here. But, I wouldn’t buy an animal here and would instead find a reputable breeder as some sellers are unlicensed. At Cartimar, your dog is definitely welcome on-leash to shop with you.

You’ll find Cartimar Shopping Centre at Taft. Ave., Pasay City.

Bonifacio High Street This mall is one the most dog-friendly places in Manila. If you want your pet dog to socialize with other dogs, then take it to Bonifacio High Street on the weekends. The middle of the shopping center has a huge lawn where dogs are allowed to run and play off-leash. Visit Hobbes and Landes and you can cool off in their café while your thirsty dog cools off at their Dog Bar. Also, be sure to check out their Petropolis section for toys, treats, and grooming products.

You’ll find Bonifacio High Street at Fort Global City, Taguig.

Eastwalk City Walk & Mall Eastwood City Walk & Mall is one of the first dog-friendly places in Manila. It is one of the few malls that allows your dog inside. So, if you have a breed that is intolerable to the heat this would be the place to take it. Dogs are allowed to shop here with their leashes on provided that you get a Pet Pass at their concierge. If you want to hang out at a café with your pooch, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf is the best place. This cafe is one of the most dog-friendly places. So much so, that you can even bring your dog inside if it’s too hot.

The open air plaza is where you will find most dog-owners and their pets hanging out though. So if you want to socialize Fido, take him here. There are also numerous restaurants in the plaza and most will allow you to dine with your pet in their outdoor area.

You’ll find Eastwood City Walk & Mall at E. Rodriguez, Jr. Avenue (C5), Quezon City.

La Mesa Ecopark Though most parks are dog-friendly places in Manila, La Mesa Ecopark would be a favorite if you and your pet dog require a more physically challenging activity. Hike the Petron Fitness and Mountain Bike Trail. But, make sure to bring lots of water for you and your pooch as the heat can be quite intense. If you need a break, head over to the Lopez Picnic Grounds to relax and enjoy the scenery.

You’ll find La Mesa Ecopark at La Mesa Dam Compound, Greater Lagro, Quezon City.
