A Walking Miracle in Progress

I asked Jesus into my heart at the age of 15, when invited to come to the altar at a revival. Although I always had a soft spot in my heart from that point on regarding the Lord, I fell away mostly in part because I resented the hypocrisy and gossiping I’d seen growing up.

Then, in March of 1975, I said, “Lord, if I’m not saved, save me now.” I fully comprehended what it meant, and I knew I wasn’t born again. Just as Jesus promised the disciples, when He left them for the last time, He said that He had to go so that the Holy Spirit, the Comforter could come. I literally felt His holy presence inside me. My conversion was radical, as I was addicted, tormented, and abused. I had so many wires crossed only God could have sorted this mess out.

People, who don’t believe, for whatever reason, miss the most wonderful side of God. It wasn’t His hand of correction that changed me, like the way I was raised; it was His love and mercy. It only makes sense that if you want an animal to come to you, you don’t beat them every time they come to you or make a mistake, so it is with people, who Jesus calls His sheep.

I’ve had too many prayers answered, and eyewitnesses who know me to prove that Jesus truly is who He says He is, the only begotten of the Father, and no man comes to the Father except through Him.

To the unbeliever, I pose this question: If you had a disease that was going to kill you, and a scientist came up with the vaccine to cure it, would you turn it down because you refuse to believe it exists, or that you think it doesn’t work? That’s precisely what Jesus did by dying on the cross for your sins, which Adam and Eve caused by their disobedience when the ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. By one, sin has come to us all, but by Jesus shedding His blood on the cross, perfect and pure and blameless, He IS the antidote for sin, hell and the grave. Your unbelief doesn’t change the truth; it just robs you from the most awesome life one can experience, and after death, the joy of heaven instead of hell. Choose life.
