A Simple Love Story

She was a young soldier who had just arrived home from six months of training. He was a student at a military institute who had served five years in the military. She was a new student at the institute. He had been there for a couple of years. She had parents who loved supported her through everything she did. He had a family of his own that was slowly falling apart. She guarded her heart against anything and everything. He had always left his open for anything, but the door to his heart was slowly closing. Little did they know thier worlds were about to crash.

She arrived on a cool January day to a place she wasn’t too sure about. She knew she wanted to go to school, but she just wasn’t sure about a miliary institute. So, she decided she wanted to go on deployment with her unit before she started school. That decision was soon changed as her family pushed her to stay at the institute.

She was miserable from the start. She felt she deserved more respect than what she received. Especially from the students there that tried to play soldier, but never would be. She absolutely hated the place. She had her best friend there with her, but her friend had drama of her own. She spent every day and night wishing she never would have heard of the school.

As the months dragged on, she befriended another student. She was very curious about him, and he was her. They were very distant at first. She, like always, guarded her heart. He wanted to open his to her. He had problems at home that he left unsaid. She had her own insecurities. Day by day, the conversations grew longer. Phone calls lasted for hours. The amount of text messages grew and grew by the thousands every week. They grew closer in a way that a couple would. Even though they would never admit thier love for one another it was obvious.

His problems at home grew worse and worse. He was closing up from a woman who had always treated him wrong. He needed an escape and he got it with the girl he was slowly falling in love with. He would take her out to dinner and they would talk for hours. Sometimes, they wouldn’t even eat. When they had to go back to the school he would drive slow so he could spend as much time with her as possible. She noticed and didn’t say anything cause she too wanted as much time with him.

As the days turned to weeks, and the weeks to months, they fell in love in a way that only true, pure love allows. Eventually, they admitted how they felt about eachother and it was the best confession they had ever made. They learned from eachother. Listened to eachothers flaws and problems. They helped eachother turn into the people they are today. They hold a love for eachother they never thought possible. They can’t imagine thier lives without eachother, nor can I.

Today, they own a home together and have a family that they adore. They still learn from one another everyday and take eachother into consideration when making a decision. They can’t wait to see that live has in store for them.
