1-on-1 Interview With Rapper, Majic

Eric Haftel- Can you please introduce yourself?

Majic- What’s up world, I’m Majic, I was born and raised in Miami, Florida aka The 305. I rap in English and Spanish. I also write and produce records. I came from a negative environment growing up so I decided to make positive music for people of all race, color and creed.

E- How did you get your name, “Majic”?

M- There’s actually two reasons I chose “Majic:” One was from hustling on the streets, any product I was given was gone in a blink of an eye, coining the phrase “It was like Majic!” Then the ladies of course co-signed the phrase because of the work between the sheets, they say it’s magical!

E- How did you get started in the industry?

M- Grammy Nominated Producers, Cool & Dre are from my neighborhood in North Miami, so we have known each other since way back before they blew up. They heard me rap, saw talent in me and then gave me some track to record and the rest is history.

E- If you had to pick one defining moment of your career, what would it be?

M- When I opened my recording studio on South Beach. There was a nightclub called, Santo that everyone in the industry used to go to and perform with a live band, so I took advantage of the opportunity to network with major artists. I would bring them upstairs to my studio and record tracks, which opened a lot of doors for me with strong connections.

E- What is your first reaction to being called, “the new face of Urban Pop Latino”? How do you want your fans to see you as an artist?

M- It is very flattering, but I know it comes with some responsibilities and challenges. I want my fans to see me as a role model for success, as someone who did not let poverty or welfare become an obstacle but rather to achieve financial freedom, which is the goal we all strive for.

E- What is your inspiration when you write?

M- 95 percent of my lyrics I come up with on the spot, no pen or pad. But when I do write my inspirations are simple and plain, about life and just being alive.

E- What is the message or meaning behind “Spend Your Money” and are you planning on releasing a music video for it?

M-The message is for a man to be able to spoil a woman that deserves the finer things in life. Let her ‘Spend her Money’ if you have it. At the end of the day we all want to be loved. We are discussing video concepts and directors now.

E- How are you different from all the other artists out there trying to make it?

M- The fact that I have knowledge of the industry and my own money to invest in my music makes me different from some artists. There is so much talent out there, but it boils down to how hard you hustle and being in the right place at the right time.

E- What is next for Majic?

M- Take over the world! Just kidding, record more music and put out more records in the months to come.

E- Thanks for your time!
