What can cause small eye muscle spasms?
Q: For the last few weeks, I've been having periodic small muscle twitches- I'm not sure if "spasms" is technically right- in my right eye. It's always in the same spot, and has started happening a couple times every day. Is this something that's very serious, or is it possibly stress related or the like?In case it's somewhat relevant; these twitches don't really hurt, but they're extremely annoying and very bothersome. I've started a new job lately, if it's stress related, but then again it's been happening on and off for around 6 months...

Right side of Eye Muscle twitches / Spasm very frequently and spasms very quickly.?
Q: The right corner of my right eye twitches/spasms regularly and spasms very quickly as well. Almost as if there was a bug or something going crazy in there. Ive looked and I cant see anything, just wondering what it could be. Its not my eyelid its the muscle to the right of my eye right on the edge.
A: This has been studied to death (to the extent it is worth being studied) :)These muscle spasms, are just that -- benign muscles spasms, indicative of nothing further wrong. There is no pathology other than stress, and occaisonally the body's salts .. or more commonly known now as electrolytes being slightly off balance.Ignore it, and it will go away or lessen with time. I've had bouts that lasted for 6 months, then dissapear for no reason. So don't worry about duration. If you wanted to be proactive at all.. you could drink 20-32 ounces of gatorade daily to try and restore salt balances. Though our bodies are a lot better at that than we are with liquid intake. If you are drinking ALOT of water it could be slightly throwing off your balances.. But, basically it isn't anything you should A) worry about, and B) even bother trying to 'treat'. I promise! :)Go have some fun!
