This is a natural reflex of our bodies. One of your cranial nerves innervates your uvula and causes you to gag/vomit when it is touched. This is presumably to keep us from choking on large foods.

How come when you touch your uvula(?), you throw up?
Q: your uvula is in your mouth
A: It’s also known as the “gag reflex” (it also will close the epiglottis which protects the windpipe) — it has to do with a reaction by the body to clear the throat of obstructions, which may cause contractions of the abdominal muscles, and the stomach (which is sheathed by several bands of muscles) severe enough to empty the stomach. A good reflex to have, especially in the case of poisoning!
