When we have a physical injury we feel pain to teach us a lesson, so why do we get headaches?
Q: I have been wondering this for a while. So if you get hurt, like stepping on a needle or falling off something or being slapped, etc. we feel pain because our body is telling us not to do that again and that the pain will come if you do that. Anyway, we feel pain when we have headaches, yet we are not hurting ourselves. So how do we get headaches and why?
A: pain is a protective response… you dont have it quiet right. pain is a signal that something is wrong and is a trigger to protect you from further damage. it has nothing to do with teaching a lesson. when you step on a sharp object the pain tells your body “hey that’s a danger to my tissues, pull foot away to stop more damage”. headache pain is caused by many things. usually what causes headache pain is expanding blood vessels that press on nerves. “why” is usually because your blood pressure is too high. this can be caused by poor diet, being overwieght, stress, too much stimulation (light, noise, etc), fever, or many other things.
What Is happening when we get headaches? Why dont pain killers work for stress headaches?
Q: Just want to know what happens inside the head when we have headaches.
A: In general, they are caused by a Vitamin B3 (niacin) deficiency …….. assuming, of course, that you aren’t dehydrated or trying to wean yourself off caffeine.Lack of niacin will bring about negative personality changes. Also, niacin will increase circulation and reduce high blood pressure and eliminate canker sores and most often bad breath.Painkillers don’t work to cure headaches because they rob us of the very vitamins ie: the B complex of vitamins, that we need to have healthy neural and digestive functioning (they are needed for a healthy immune system also)……… thus, if any relief is gained at all it is only temporary. To conquer a headache eat more foods rich in niacin ie: fish, lean meat, whole wheat products, liver, wheat germ, eggs, roasted peanuts, the white meat of poultry, avocadoes, dates, figs and prunes.CHEERS♥good health to you ♥
why do we get different types of headaches?
Q: Ive had my fair share of headaches, but why are they different? Sometimes its a throbbing, sometimes a sharp pain, sometimes an ache. And in different places, sometimes its in your temples, sometimes behind your eyes and sometimes at the back of your head. What does it mean? Is it certain situations that makes it different? its weird.
A: Generally:Back of your neck involved usually means TENSION. — Hot bath should help.Blurring vision means EYE STRAIN. — Get offline, you goose!Forehead between eyes, sides of nose, temples, and sometimes ears, (also sometimes back top molar teeth) SINUSITIS. — See a doc. You may need antibiotics. One side of your head, with sensitivity to light and loud noises is NORMAL MIGRAINE (though after a few hours, you will get secondary pain on the other side, and in the back of your neck). — Talk to GP, as these headaches can last several days and be very disabling.Very sharp, sudden pain should be taken seriously, as it could be an ANEYURISM (burst blood vessel) — go to Casualty and insist on MRI, as these can occur suddenly, in young people, from blood-pressure spikes, if there’s a thin place in a blood-vessel in your head.Copious nosebleeds, especially if accompanied by sudden pain, loss of any motor function, tremors, etc, would indicate a STROKE.- Casualty. NOW.If you are injured and have a blow to the head, whether or not you are told you have a CONCUSSION (bruised brain tissue), make sure they check, a few weeks later, for a SUBDURAL HAEMATOMA (blood-clot on the brain). — You’ll be sick enough that they’ll check. Some people get weird visual perceptions, or smells, prior to getting CLASSIC MIGRAINE. — Same treatment as for any migraine. Tendency to migraine is hereditary. Some odd things can cause headaches: -Rotten molars-Tooth-grinding while asleep (TMJ – TemporoMandibular Joint)-Bad posture — you’ll feel that in your neck-Ill-fitting shoes — your back and neck-Pillows that are too soft/hard (you need to experiment)-Dehydration — usually accompanied with nausea, it’s very common!-Caffeine-withdrawal — causes blood-vessels in your brain to expand-Hormones — many women have a headache about a week before their periodsHope that helps, luv!Happy New Year.
