Where does head lice come from? What's the best way to prevent it?
Q: I know you shouldn't share combs & hats. But where does it really come from? My granddaughter has had it twice in 5 years. Her mother nor I have ever had lice. Are fair haired people more prone? Have nieces that are dark haired who never had lice. While 1 with fair hair has had lice several times.
A: I don't think the color of someone's hair makes them more prone to head lice. The best treatment for it tho is something called Neem Oil. The store bought shampoos are highly toxic. They're not any safer then spraying a child's head with Raid. They are neurotoxins, that is how they kill the lice, and if the child repeatedly gets head lice, the lice can become immune to these treatments. Prescription treatments are even worse, especially one called LINDANE. Very few doctors prescribe it now, but it is HIGHLY TOXIC, and has been linked to cancer. 100% pure, Neem Oil is very safe for repeated uses, people have been using it for hundreds of years. Head lice cannot become immune to it because it naturally contains substances that mimic a hormone that impairs their ability to reproduce, inhibits their ability to feed and prevent the eggs from hatching. Neem Oil, if used correctly can eliminate lice in one treatment. You can prevent children from getting lice by putting an ounce on Neem Oil in their shampoo. Neem Oil can be purchased online. I've purchased it off Ebay because it's much cheaper there then anywhere else online. If you use Neem Oil to treat head lice, make sure you get one that is 100% pure and preferably cold pressed and unrefined.
Where does head lice come from?
Q: Where do the live? Are they invested somewhere? where are they initially? Where do they originate from? I obviously know you can get it from contact with an inected person, but where does it actually come from?
A: Head lice have been in existence for hundreds of thousands of years, if not more. They are closely related to body lice. Head lice have no wings, cannot hop, and cannot walk quickly. They depend on humans for survival. As you mentioned, head lice are transmitted through close contact. This can occur from person-to-person, use of infected items (such as a brush), contact with infected clothing/blankets/furniture, etc.
where do head lice come from?
Q: I know they come from eggs and they live in hair,,,but what im askin is can you get them from outside grass? are they like fleas? im just wanting to know where are they before they spread in peoples hair?
A: All I know is that head lice cannot fly or jump, you can usually only catch them after having head to head contact with another person who is infected. Contrary to popular belief, head lice don't care if hair is clean or dirty - they aren't fussy.
