can Dr.’s Determine u have swine flu by your symptoms?
Q: I have been feeling some of the described symptoms for swine flu. I went to the doctor and you determined that swine flu is what i had. The thing is that he only checked my mouth and i told him what my symptoms were. So he gave me the swine flu treatment. However, he did not run any swap test or blood test to confirm that swine flu is my problem. Can he diagnose that i have swine flu by not running blood test?
A: He didn’t make a proper diagnosis. Seasonal and Novel H1N1 influenza strains all cause the same signs and symptoms. Without the nasal swab test, or a blood test, there is no way to confirm the Swine flu diagnosis, because the seasonal influenza strains, or other strains cannot be ruled out. Regardless, the treatment of the Swine Flu and seasonal flu are essentially the same; so diagnosed it, or misdiagnosed as the Swine Flu by not following proper procedure, but treated it with the right treatment. A wrong and a right, not a good way to practice medicine, because of making a conclusion without proper evidence; not that big of a deal this time, but could be in the future if a diagnosis is made without anything to confirm it. Very dangerous to the patient.Good luck, I hope you get to feeling better soon.
