Q: I sprained my ankle about 4 days ago and I have been on crutches. I had xrays so it’s just a bad sprain. It’s still really swollen but I can walk on it now with little to no pain. granted the walk is a slow unnatural walk. Should I start walking on it or keep using the crutches? Is the exercise good to reduce the swelling or should I continue the R.I.C.E procedure?

It started out severly swollen with inability to walk the first 24 hours. 3 days have passed and I am now able to run on it (with no support of a cast or anything etc). Seems like I heal quicker than others. How much longer should I let my ankle rest for? There is now minimal swelling and just a leftover bruise towards the bottom of the foot.
A: I think you should wait about 1 more week and see how it feels then and how the swelling is. If it gone adn feels great with no pain at all I think you would be ready to go back.
