A: there is oral herpes which are cold sores. they can be passed through sharing things that go into your mouth with some one who has cold sores. they are contagious and can be passed through kissing and oral sex. the genital type is mostly passed through sexual activity but can be passed through fingering and oral sex as well. i think it could be possible to have sores in and around the urethra. but it may mostly feel like there are sores there, and not necisarally have them in the penis. there are tests that doctors do for herpes they will most likely do a swab test of the outbreak which is more accurate then a blood test. he should get this done while the outbreak is still there. it will be harder to test if there is no outbreak.

Q: I’ve contracted herpes type 1, which I tested positive for last year… but I’m not sure who I go it from, though I have my suspicions. A: no way to tell how long it’s been there (or other stds)… unless you were tested and negative and then positive. herpes type 1 is usually the oral form, but can occur on the genitals after contact with someone that is shedding the virus (unfortunately, no one really knows when they are shedding). a very high portion of the population (more than 50%) has some form of herpes, though they may have only had one outbreak (chickenpox is a different strain of herpes).
