What causes a pulseless ventricular tachycardia? What is the difference between the one with pulse present?
Q:
A: Cardiac arrest refers to a condition in which the heart stops pumping blood to the body. It occurs due to one of three main reasons, as will be explained as follows:- 1) The first is ventricular fibrillation/pulseless ventricular tachycardia. In this case, the heart shakes rapidly but does not pump blood (ventricular fibrillation), or it tries to pump so rapidly (pulseless ventricular tachycardia) it does not allow blood to flow in, or effectively flow out. 2) The second type is called pulseless electrical activity (also known as electromechanical dissociation). In this case there is normal electrical conduction in the heart, but the heart does not contract. 3)The third type is called asystole, in which there is no electrical activity or muscle activity of the heart. Vice versa is the case of pulse present VT.
how long is the life expectency of some one who has ventricular tachycardia?
Q: Is there anyway to live a long life with this condition? Should I be worried about my future?
A: Ventricular Tachycaria (VT) is the leading cause of sudden cardiac death. However it is treatable with medications and the use of implantable defibrilators (ICD) which are very effective in recognizing and treating VT. With an ICD people can live healthy until something else comes along to take their lives instead. I wish you all the blessings in the world.
could pvc’s and short runs of superventricular tachycardia or ventricular tachycardia during sex be benign?
Q: this is not regarding any patient in specific, it’s a general question, please only factual answers.and also don’t answer with wikipedia articles or websites, describe what v-tach or svt is, I know what they are.
A: They could be but it depends on if they give symptoms or not. And, most people do not go into an SVT during sex, they go into a sinus tachycardia from the activity. Many, many people have benign PVC’s at times and unless they give symptoms, treatment is not necessary.
