What could be the reason my cockerpoos have been having diarrhea for past 3 days?
Q: The only difference in eating has been a new treat (Cheezy treats)
A: If the only thing thats changed…. it your treats. Throw ’em out.A lot of treats have tons of additives and chemicals, lost of dogs just can tolerate them. You need to treat your dog like you would anyone with diarrhea, bland foods like rice, bananas, toast, boiled carrots, boiled potatoes, and very very bland and low fat chicken. If its not extremely bad, they’d most likely be a lot happier if you just made them a little plain rice and mixed it into their food for the next day or two. If it is extremely bad, you may want to think about adding in more of the things mentioned above.
what seems to be the reason for dog having diarrhea?
Q: I have been taking care of my friends 7 year old retriever for a week and half now. He has been having diarrhea poop on and off for the time. (the owner did mention he used to have diarrhea problems with him). But today, i came home and he actually had diarrhea in the house assuming he could no longer hold it since he is trained to do so. My question is if it is possible the reason for the diarrhea because of the owner being gone for so long causing stress or any thing you guys may suggest would be helpful. thanks!!!
A: Diets are usually the #1 cause. Poor quality foods or foods that the dog is allergic to will cause diarrhea.Stress is possible as well, but I wouldn’t count on it if the dog has a history of diarrhea issues.A vet check could help quite a lot to rule out any internal issues; as well as allergies.
Which of this could be the reason for my bulldogs diarrhea?
Q: My 7 month old english bulldog has had diarrhea for 3 days. We ususally feed her the Parena hard dog food but we decided to give her a Parena canned one. Also he’s been chewing grass like crazy. And he recently has chewed up two Raw hide dog bones In the course of probably two days. Could any of these be the cause of his sickness?
A: It could very well be the rawhide bones that did this. Unless the rawhide was made in the USA, I feel they can actually be dangerous. Salmonella, bacteria, and chemicals are common to imported rawhides. Canned food has a higher water content than dry-it’s possible that the canned food caused the diarrhea-is she still on it? Switch her back to the dry when she is better, in the meantime, boil some chicken or hamburger and mix it with plain brown rice and oatmeal for a few days to lighten the load on her system. You may want to consider a better food, as well. Purina is not a healthy food for a dog, and after spending so much to obtain your Bulldog, I’m sure you feel that she’s worth enough to feed a high quality food. Just a few brands to consider: Innova, California Naturals, Prairie, Wellness, Merrick, Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover’s Soul, Solid Gold.
