Is there a phobia of falling out of love?
Q: I mean, I know that philophobia is the fear of falling IN love, but is there an opposite?
A: Sure- it is called attachment.
“Fear of” = phobia; “Love of” = philia. What do you call “Hatred of”?
Q: I am one of those few people in the world who is irrationally disturbed by the sound of chewing. It’s not a phobia because I don’t feel like the chewing is going to hurt me or anything. And it’s definitely irrational because I just can’t tolerate that sound. If there is chewing in a room and I can leave, I do. If I can’t leave, I bang my head against a desk, tear at my hands until they start bleeding or some other irrational thing.Imagine you had to hear the sound of nails on a chalkboard three times a day for a half hour, every day of your life. Yeah, it’s like that.I’d love to put a name on this disorder, but so far I haven’t been able to find anything.”then how do u chew ur food?..geek.”With great difficulty…nerd.”You need to be more tolerant. I’m also annoyed by little things like that but you just have to ignore it”Dude, if that was possible then I would do it. Going crazy for 1/2 hour a day 3 times a day for my entire life is not something I enjoy.”‘If I can’t leave, I bang my head against a desk, tear at my hands until they start bleeding or some other irrational thing.'””‘.. I hope you werent literal, because that’s just overboard.'”Unfortunately, it is literal. This is why I am seeking professional help. But without a name, my condition doesn’t seem legitimate.Have you ever had a teacher grinds her nails on a chalkboard as she writes? Imagine it kept going, every day of your life. Imagine you were expected to sit there and listen to it while everyone else thought you were crazy for being bothered by it. That pretty much describes my daily life.Look, I know it’s hard to understand, but consider this: you wouldn’t tell a friend who was having a seizure to just knock it off, and in both my case and in the case of your friend it’s a matter of the brain doing something the person cannot possibly control or even lessen. I’m going with the person who answered my question.
A: xeno I think is prefix for fear/hatred ofno idea what fear of chewing is, though
is this so called love phobia? ?
Q: first of all thanks for your time. i don’t know if anyone has experienced something like this before it’s like… when you get to know someone or when someone gets to know you a lot you start to repel away from them? like i start to like someone/become interested in someone then as i start to get to know that person more (and knew that the person has become interested in me as well) i start to repel away and stay distant from him. then ages later the person would forget about me (possibly) then i would just sit there and regret to myself why did i let the chance go by again and why did i become uninterested all of a sudden and wanted to repel away. is this some kind of love phobia? again, thanks for your time.
A: I don’t think it’s a phobia….I know lots of people like that.I think their afraid of committment!!!! What if s/he likes me? Then what do I do? Marry? Move in? Have children? Who pays the bills? What do I tell my parents??? One girl/guy all my life? YIKES!!!! orThey are afraid their partner isn’t perfect….oh my gosh…too good to be true. What’s wrong with them? What’s wrong with me? orScared they’ll discover YOUR fault…..my penis is too small, I have a scar on my face, they’ll learn I’m really stupid, afraid of cats….
