A: I’ve never heard of that symptom, I know you can have pain in the front of your neck where your thyroid is located sometime.I was hyperthyroid years ago and went through all these procedures till now I just take a thyroid pill for the rest of my life.It is nothing to play around with, it can make you feel miserable. Your family dr is not specialized in this, mine referred me to an endocrinologist who does. Many times drs try to treat these things without trying to find out the cause or how bad it really is, so get a referral to an endocrinologist and let him investigate.

Can thyroid disorders cause premature graying?
Q: I have started getting gray hair. I am 27, so maybe I am not going “prematurely” gray, but I was just wondering if having a thyroid disorder could cause the gray. I have had problems in the past with hair loss due to my under-active thyroid and was wondering if perhaps the gray is another symptom. Any thoughts?
A: Possibly, but so does stress and alot of other things. I would not worry bout it to much. I also have thyriod probs, but colour my hair. im also a hairdresser and it could be from medication to stress to so many different things, buy i do know thyriod can cause you to loose hair. just watch your diet and what you put in your body. im seeing a homeopath and going that root is so much better and can really help ease alot of things your thyriod causes.Toodles
