Q: One of my parents is senile and I need both of them to sign a document through their lawyer. Problem is one of them is now senile what has to be done?

A: Be sure you have a witness to the signing. This has to be a person who knows them. You can hold their hand and guide the writing, but the pen needs to be in their hand. If they are absolutely unable to sign, you will need to talk to the people who are asking you to get the paper signed. Perhaps one parent can sign for the other? I became power of attorney for my parents, and was able to sign their paperwork, but I had them both do that themselves until they were no longer able.
