What time frame can the rotavirus vaccine be taken?
Q: My son wasn’t given the rotavirus vaccine at his 2 month shot appointment. Will he still be able to get the series of vaccines or did he miss his chance to get the vaccine completely?
A: If you want, yes. Keep in mind though, that the treatment for rotavirus is FLUIDS…since all it causes is vomiting and diarrhea. Rotavirus is transmitted via the fecal-oral route, which is more of a concern for toddlers/young children, not infants. Also, rotavirus is not really dangerous past the age of 2…so it appears to be a useless vaccine, similar to the way one is being developed for roseola. Sigh. The rotavirus vaccine also contains chemicals and additives like sodium hydroxide, fetal bovine serum (GROSS!!), sodium citrate, and polysorbate 80 to name a few.http://www.rxlist.com/rotateq-drug.htm**Side effects of sodium hydroxide (also called LYE and found in drain cleaners): http://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/tfacts178.html**Side effects of sodium citrate: http://www.drugs.com/ppa/sodium-citrate-citric-acid.html**Side effects of polysorbate 80: http://infertility.suite101.com/article.cfm/polysorbate_80_causes_infertility
