A: Call your local Board of Health Officer. He’ll come and inspect your apartment for anything. The landlord will have to take care of the problem and he’ll be taken to Housing Court. It’s the law.

Spores go airborne and go everywhere and will be on everything and are invisible to the naked eye. Sounds like the mold problem has been there for a while(caked) so i would assume that the toxic mold spores will be everywhere inside your boat. Considering this fact it would def interfere with the timeline of your recovery. Once your presensitized to toxic mold sickness even the smallest amount of toxic mold spores can cause a harsh sickness to commence unfortunately. So i would replace (replaced not cleaned) everything that can be removed and perhaps run an ozone generator for the rest. You might also consider taking some lamisil anti fungal pills from your doctor. good luck

Q: We have moved into a rental house with severe water problems in the basement. I haven’t felt well the last couple weeks and same with my daughter. The house has a musty wet (strong) dirt smell. The basement is dirt and has had at times 3 feet of water standing for 2 weeks. Now I have a pump in there and need to pump several inches of water out daily even in dry weather? I am moving in 2 weeks but is that too long to stay considering??

I would call out the experts who can tell you right away…We built a new home and after a bad rain storm a few months later we noticed a pink spot behind the wallpaper.It was Mold….So I called Hasmat out to look at it, they don’t waste any time when they think their could be toxic mold. But they scraped it off and said it wasn’t toxic and sent it to a lab…..I think if you find Black Spores anywhere in the house and if your having trouble breathing that you should get an apartment or hotel until you move into another place…….Best of Luck to you and yours…
