Does anyone know a product you can use to ease the pain of a hammertoe, that actually stays on the toe?
Q: I have been recently diagnosed with a hammertoe on my “ring” toe. Originally I thought it was just a callus, and was using a lot of different foot products to ease the pain. I’ve tried bandages, toe separators, toe wraps, and even a toe straightener, but they don’t stay in place. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if they have used any product that they are happy with that stayed on their toe. Thanks!
A: I just had foot surgery on both feet for a variety of problems, including hammertoes. I also had callouses that were painful. I tried everything in the book, insoles, orthotics, trimming of callouses, every single thing you can think of. Only thing that has worked was the surgery. If it is painful and inhibits your day, think of having it done. In my opinion, if you have one hammertoe, chances are the others will follow. I had no signs of anything wrong with my feet until I was about 20 years old, and it took me 12 years of trying and pain to get the surgery, and I am glad I did!
