The terms dysphoria and euphoria are not clinical terms in themselves, except when attached to a diagnostic label. The simply refer to low or elevated mood in the generic sense, which may or may not have clinical implications.

How do you tell someone you love that you suffer from gender dysphoria?
Q: Only serious responces please. Gender dysphoria is a condition where a person’s gender and identity of oneself does not match. As in my case this took many years to begin comming to terms with and do not want to neither loose or damage the relationships I have grown over the course of my life.
A: If you love them and they love you, you shoot straight. It’s Good to be open. Speak from the heart not the head.
Do I need to be diagnosed with gender dysphoria in order to undergo breast removal in the US?
Q: I’m not gender confused, but I really dislike having boobs… Would I need any sort of diagnosis in order to receive this surgery in the states?
A: I believe you do. I think you need one letter of referral from a therapist. It’s not mentioned in the latest Standards of Care, but I believe a surgeon will want a letter before doing the operation.I’ve starred the question, so hopefully some guys will jump in with their experiences.
What care provider options are there for Gender Dysphoria?
Q: If one (with M2F Gender Dysphoria) receives therapist approval for a low dose of hormones solely as a way to relieve anxiety/feel better (no other objectives at this time), can any M.D. prescribe/supervise the treatment or are only certain ones willing/allowed to do this? I ask because an office recommended by the therapist does not have an M.D. slot available for almost 3 months to work this (because of the anticipated duration of the appointment). Is it normal to have to wait in line for 3 months to see a doctor to prescribe ANY level of hormones? Any suggestions to speed this up?
A: Sadly, most insurance companies still refuse to pay ANYTHING that is specifically related to GID because they feel it will open the door for paying for SRS. I live in California and a few providers like Kaiser have wised up that Estradiol is cheaper than Prozac and that it makes us TG women happier, smarter and calmer when we take it.Basically, you need a full blood panel test and a hip endocrinologist and you’re in business. Three months is ridiculous; look on Andrea James site or others for resources that are closer to you. Feel free to email me too.PS..I’m on them and it’s the best thing I ever did.
