My sister has chromes disease and a few other disabilities. What can of help can she get?
Q: She is still sound of mind, but is incapable of working. She is applying for disability, but there’s got to be more available to her? Any suggestions?
A: First, it is Crohn’s disease. There really isn’t that much help available to a person unless and until they become very disabled by Crohn’s. If she is unable to work, then depending on her work history she may be eligible for SSDI. If the Chrohn’s began before she turned 22 and she can prove it – she is probably eligible for SSI.She can likely get food stamps and apply for section 8 housing. Get a deduction on her phone bill and a home heating credit for her electricity or gas. That’s about it!
