Arrhythmias…?
Q: Ok every since I was little I would just be sitting and being calm and all of a sudden my heart rate would beat really fast for no reason at all and then it would go back to its regular pace, (I can feel it, I dont need to put my hand over my chest), and might start again in a few minutes/hours.. or i might not get anymore for a few weeks or months. But its the same now, just being calm and get these weird palpitations. I just read an article on this last month so I figured out that this is what I might have. They say its normal and many people experience it but it can me life-threatenning and im Just 24. Should I go to the doctor? This weekend I had some red-bull and it made it alot worse I thought I was going to drop dead or something. And do those medications really work??? What should I do?? I dont experience it that much but when I do it scares me. Itts not a good feeling, I wonder if its a heart attack or I dont know. When it happens, I feel light-headed, dizzy and have shortness of breath (most the time but not always.) And I go to the gym. Is this safe??
A: I have had similar symptoms. I’ve started to narrow some of it down to being allergy related since it’s worse at a particular time of the year. But I will get that feeling of my heart POUNDING in my chest, or just speeding up. Sometimes I’ll get the sensation of passing out. I’ve been to the doctor several times. I’ve had an ECG, he tried BP meds (off those now), and he checks my heart every time I go in. All signs indicate it’s healthy. I do go to the gym as well, and I do a lot of activities that should make my heart blow if it is prone to an attack. But BE CAREFUL. Go to your Doc for sure. And get off the Red Bull! LoL I drank 4 of those during a 12 hour drive after an 8 hour work day and I had a racing heart and hurting chest the entire next day and I didn’t sleep well. Never again!
What ‘predefined arrhythmias’ does a Loop Heart Moniter have?
Q: I have been struggling for quite some time with Tachycardia, I am now wearing an event monitor (for the 4th time) It automatically, caught a ‘predefined arrhythmia’, with me not pushing the button. I called it in and was told it ws ‘non emergant, however I would like to know what arrhythmias it automatically catchs on it’s own. Please help
A: These monitors detect bradycardia (slow heart beats) and tachycardia (fast heart beats). Unfortunately they aren’t the most accurate of things and therefore often falsely trigger, thinking they’ve seen an arrhythmia when it is actually artifact through movement, or loss of good contact. Although they can be very useful and will pick up symptoms when you may not have (e.g. when asleep)
What are some effect home remedies or herbs/vitamins that will help arrhythmias (heart beating out of rhythm)?
Q: I heard olive leaf extract can really help arrhythmias, (the heart beating out of rhythm) , is that true?Western medication is good, but alot of the time, causes side effects. Do you know of any home remedy or vitamin, natural substance to take that will help this problem? Thanks for all your feed back. God bless you.
A: My heart used to do all kinds of strange things after drinking diet soda. Even after I stopped drinking it completely, there would still be occasions that scared me, as my heart would do little flip flops, or feel like I was on the downside of a roller coaster. After a little research, I started taking omega 3, ubiquinol, and potassium/magnesium aspartate. Within a couple of weeks, the episodes stopped and I’ve not had another since.Omega 3 – Take two 1000 mg gelcap daily. (Can take a 3-6-9)Ubiquinol is like a concentrated form of CoQ10, but at a fraction of the price. I take 50 mg, one time daily. That’s the equivalent of taking 400 mg of coq10, which is very beneficial to your heart.Potassium and magnesium are also vital to proper heart function. Also very inexpensive.the best price I’ve found is at vitacost.com.Hope this helps.God Bless
