Q: ok so im getting tested first thing monday, but I just want to ease my mind a little. I had unprotected sex about 2 years ago and a few days later (I think a few days later, could have been a week) I got a really sore throat and a red bump, the bump was about the size of a classic m&m, it was red and didnt look like a pimple, it looked like a canchre a little, like I can only vaguely remember what it looked like but I know ive never had it before. I wouldnt have noticed it but my throat was very sore and it seemed to be hurting in one area, I looked and I had the red bump in the back of my throat, where the throat connects to the roof….so inbetween the roof of the mouth and the throat…where it forms. Anyways it hurt really bad to touch it and it was firm I remember which concerns me since they say they are firm and smooth….I think it might have been smooth looking also. Anyways it went away in a day or so, I had unprotected sex for like 30 secs with a girl and I did oral on her for like 3 mins but nothing deep at all or anything. So my main questions are, how would the sore get way back in my throat if thats where the virus entered? I mean can the sore pop up in the general area….not right where the virus entered? Also does it seem more likely that since I had unprotected sex I would have gotton syphilis sore on my penis since its easier to catch there? Finally, does the sore disappear in only a 1-3 days? I cant wait to get tested to find out, its a lifetime movie I saw the other day that made me realize I could have something. Also is there anything else at all that could cause a red bump in my mouth like this? Maybe strep throat, mono or something else?
