What causes belching that tastes like rotten eggs?
Q: I know it's gross, but it's been going on for about a week now and I can't get rid of it with antacids or anti-gas pills. Also everything I eat causes instant bloat and cramps. I haven't made any changes to my diet...and no, I haven't eaten any eggs for two weeks or more
A: I have had this same symptom for years. Not constantly, maybe 1 or 2 times a year. Gastro Dr couldn't figure it out, after testing and his only suggestion was that maybe, since I have so many adhesions from several emergency surgeries, that now and then the adhesions tangle and kink a section of intestine. Leaving gas trapped on the upper side nowhere to go but up and leaving me with pain and bloating. Don't want to scare you, but maybe It'll give you a starting point. :-)
What causes a belching action after taking an antacid?

A: the antacid is an alkaline compound that neutralizes the hydrochloric acid in your stomach by making a salt and carbon dioxide gas (CO2) is released that cause the air pressure in your stomach and stimulate the belching action
What causes excessive belching and hiccups?
Q: ...in an otherwise healthy individual (male)?
A: Does this normally start when you swallow something? I have what they call "Esopagal Spasms" & when I swallow (be it food or liquid), it will feel as though it is getting stuck (though it is not-it is just the esophagus opening & not allowing things to pass-I guess it is "stuck" but it will not inhibit your breathing abilities)...anyways...when this happens, I get the hiccups. I don't get the burping at all, but the hiccups happen every time. It is caused by the spasms. You could also have acid reflux. That would cause your symptoms as well, along with a burning sensation in your chest or throat area.
