The only semi – perm way is to get Botox on your hands. This will prevent all sweating. If you go to the doctor I know they can prescribe Drysol. It stings a little but will prevent sweating.

Q: My hands sweat like crazy for some reason.Sometimes its because I’m nervous but other times they sweat for no reason. I’ve read that drinking lots of caffienecan cause you to sweat more but I don’t drinkn any.So far I’ve tried baby powder and anti-persperant and neither worked. Does anyone have any other ideas?
A: hi, first off (just checking) if you happen to have any thyroid problems, that could be it. It is unlikely though, so if you haven’t heard that you do, you probably don’t. That leaves what someone else was discussing. It’s a medical condition called hyperhidrosis, and i’ve got it so i know how annoying it is. Go see a dermatologist, and ask around – there are plenty of doctors who know what the condition is, and there are a few options for treating it. You can try something like Drysol, which is a prescription antiperspirant that’s supposedly stronger than regular antiperspirants. You roll it over your hands before bed. Some people love it, it didn’t do much for me. But thats ok! If that doesn’t work for you, there are two options. One is the Botox injections – it’s a series of 30 injections into your hands that will basically paralyze your sweat glands. It will only work for a few months, but some poeple really like it – it is, from what i’ve heard from a friend, very painful, but that’s up to you. You can also try iontophoresis (you can google it for a photo so you get a better idea.) Basically it’s a machine that uses electricity to stop your glands from excreting too much sweat. the downside is its a slower fix than botox – you’ll have to do it once every few days for about a week, and then you will have to repeat it on your own as often as every week up or every month or so, depending on your own body. It also, while not excruciating, isn’t all that pleasant – it feels like pins and needles. If you end up deciding to do this, message me with any questions, i can definitely fill you in =) i’ve been doing it for about two years, and to be honest, it’s starting to become really inconvenient, but i don’t have a better option at the moment. There is surgery (ETS) for people who really really can’t find relief. It’s supposedly getting more refined, but as of now i’m rather opposed to it – it causes compensatory sweating, and is dangerous. I’d much rather sweat too much from my hands than my underarms =) Good luck!

Q: How do you control hands from sweating? I normally don’t sweat but only when im nervous or holding someone else’s hand…the thought makes me sweat. how do i keep my ands dry?
A: First I would recommend you to consult a doctor so he can properly evaluate your situation. In the case there’s nothing wrong with your body, then you have a pure physiological problem. It’s normal to sweat more when you’re nervous, some people sweat a lot when they’re very nervous. So what you have to work in those situations is trying not to get nervous, maybe trying to take your mind of those situations, think about things that won’t make you nervous. If you can’t do it alone consult a psychiatrist, he can make you feel better and more relaxed, which would solve your problem.
