Sometimes there is a thick yellow discharge that comes from the ears if your eardrum has burst. Your ear could also be itchy or red.If you have earwax blockage, your hearing might be muffled or your ears will feel plugged up. You could also feel mild nausea or have problems staying balanced. If your problems persist you should visit the doctor! For more info. on ear infections and ear wax blockage, check out the website I work for, AOL Health:Ear Infection Information:http://www.aolhealth.com/conditions/ear-infectionshttp://www.aolhealth.com/conditions/signs-and-complications-of-an-ear-infectionhttp://www.aolhealth.com/conditions/ear-infection-acute-otitis-mediaEar Wax Blockage Information:http://www.aolhealth.com/conditions/earwax-and-other-ear-problemshttp://www.aolhealth.com/conditions/wax-blockage-of-the-ear-canalhttp://www.aolhealth.com/conditions/what-may-increase-your-risk-for-problems-from-earwaxhttp://www.aolhealth.com/conditions/drainage-from-the-ear
How long does it take for symptoms of an ear infection to go away?
Q: I am a (otherwise) healthy 28 year old female. Yesterday, my doctor diagnosed me with a middle ear infection, and prescribed 875 mg of an antibiotic to be taken three times a day. It is only 18 hours later, but my symptoms seem a lot worse. I can’t hear at all anymore from that ear, and the whole side of my face/ neck is starting to hurt as well. The pressure and pain in the ear is also seem more intense. How much longer should I be feeling like this? Should I go back to my doc asap?
A: if your feeling cruddy on monday definetely go back in. I wonder if ear drops would help- I think they have some steroid ear drops designed to ease the swelling of your ear drum. After 24 hrs on a pill you should be feeling some sort of relief I would think………………………. If all else fails your reg doctor could refer you to an ear nose thoart specialist.

Q: An ear infection caused by drainage from allergies. How long for symptoms to be noticed after exposure to allergy?
A: i would try to go on web md just to make sure…but i used to have a lot of ear infections when i was a kid, and my guess is once you start having that throbbing pain in your ear, thats a good indication of infection. If you dont have that ache, then you dont have an infection
